Aunt Ruth's Jelly Cookies



2 cups Flour
4 Tbsp. Vegetable Shortening (aka Spry)
2 Eggs
¾ cups Sugar
2 tsp. Baking Powder
Juice of Orange or Orange Juice
Jelly, Nuts, Raisins or Chocolate Bits


Mix Flour, Shortening, Eggs, Sugar, Baking Powder and Juice for the dough.

The dough will be soft. Add enough flour so you can handle it okay.

Cover board with flour and roll out pieces of dough into a circle.

Spead with Jelly, nuts, raisins or chocolate bits. Roll up and cut into pieces. Put on greased cookie sheets.

Bake until brown. Don't overbake.
