Chicken Chow Mein


Recipe provided by Sophia Hollander of the Marion Rappeport Chapter.

Ingredients:

3 tbs. Chicken Fat
3 cups diced Celery
2 cups diced Onions
1 ½ cup chicken soup or water
2 cups diced Chicken
1 can Bean Sprouts - drained
3 tsp. Soy Sauce
2 tbs. Corn Starch
2 tbs. Sugar

Directions:

Combine chicken fat, celery, onions, and chicken soup and cook gently until vegetables are tender.

Add diced chicken, bean sprouts and 1 tbs. soy sauce. Cover and cook for 15 minutes more. Mix till sauce is a smooth paste then add the remaining soy sauce, corn starch, and sugar.

Cook and stir for 15 minutes. Serve with 2 cups boiled rice or warm noodles.
