Chopped Herring


Recipe provided by Nettie M. Sarbone of the Wm. M. Untermann Chapter.

Ingredients:

5 Shmaltz Herrings
12 hard boiled Eggs
5 grated Apples
5 grated large Onions
5 stale Rolls (soaked)
2 tbs. Sugar
2 tbs. Vinegar
Pepper

Directions:

Soak Herrings overnight. Clean. Squeeze water out of rolls. Chop all ingredients together.
