Potato Dough Knishes


Recipe provided by Mrs. Belle Warman of the Linden-Roselle Chapter.

Ingredients:

Dough:

1 lb. Potatoes
1 Onion chopped and lightly browned
Salt and Pepper
1 Egg
½ cup Flour

Filling:

1 lbs. or 2 cups of ground cooked beef or lung or any substitute
1 Egg
1 Onion
Seasoning to taste

Directions:

Mash boiled potatoes with onion, egg, seasoning and gradually add flour. Place large spoonful of dough mixture on well greased cookie sheet. Add 1 Tbsp. of filling ingredients (after mixing thorooughly) on potato mixture and cover with another spoonful of potato mixture. Clamp dough edges loosely with fingers. Bake in oven at 350° degrees for 20 minutes.
