Swiss Steak

Recipe provided by Vivian Shilling of the New Brunswick Chapter.


lbs. Beef
1 medium Onion (sliced)
3 tbs. chopped Green Peppers
3 tbs. Fat
1 can of Tomato Sauce
1 cup of Water
1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper


In a heavy skillet, cook the Onion and Green Pepper until tender. Then, pound the Flour into the Beef with the edge of a heavy plate.

Brown the meat on both sides in the fat then add the other ingredients and simmer for about 1½ hours until tender.
