Tuna Gefilte Fish


Recipe provided by Esther Shanker of the Bayonne Chapter.

Ingredients:

1 can Tuna or 5 oz. flaked Tuna
3 Eggs
8 tbs. Matzo Meal
2 Onions
1 Carrots (chopped)
2 quarts Water

Directions:

Beat 3 eggs well. Add 8tbs. matzo meal. Let mixture stand in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Bring to a boil 2 quarts. Add 1 sliced onions, carrots and salt and pepper to taste.

Mash tuna fish in a bowl. Grate in 1 onion. Add both ingredients to chilled egg mixture. Shape into balls & add to boiling water. Cook for 1½ hours.
